SpeakText is a local-first dictation app. Its core job is to listen through your microphone, transcribe speech on your own device, and insert the resulting text wherever your cursor is active.

We design SpeakText so your microphone audio and dictated text are processed locally by the desktop app. SpeakText does not send your audio recordings or transcript content to SpeakText servers for transcription.

When you visit speaktext.pro, normal hosting and security logs may include technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, and timestamps.

When you buy SpeakText, manage your license, or download purchased files, payment and account information is handled by Polar. This may include your name, email address, billing details, transaction information, license or entitlement status, and download activity.

If you contact us for support, we collect the information you choose to send, such as your email address, messages, diagnostics, screenshots, or logs.

SpeakText may access your microphone, active cursor context, app settings, hotkeys, model preferences, and local runtime files so the product can work.

Speech audio, realtime transcription output, settings, and temporary runtime data are kept on your device unless you intentionally share them with us, for example in a support request.

We use information to provide the website, process purchases, deliver downloads, verify access to updates, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use your dictated speech, audio, or transcript content to train AI models.

Polar processes checkout, customer portal, payment, license, and downloadable-file workflows. Your use of those workflows is also governed by Polar's terms and privacy practices.

SpeakText may connect to update and download endpoints, including GitHub release infrastructure, Polar, or related hosting/CDN providers, to check for updates and retrieve product files.

The website loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser may contact Google when loading those font files.

The SpeakText website does not currently set first-party analytics cookies in this codebase. Third-party services such as Polar may use cookies or similar technologies for checkout, account, fraud prevention, or portal functionality.

If analytics are added later, this policy should be updated to describe what is collected and how to opt out.

We keep purchase, license, support, and security records for as long as needed to provide the product, resolve disputes, maintain business records, and meet legal requirements.

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, or clear the relevant settings and runtime files.

You can stop microphone access by pausing SpeakText, changing operating system permissions, or uninstalling the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or object to certain processing of your personal information. Contact us to make a request.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we handle. No internet service or software product can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.

We may update this privacy policy as SpeakText changes. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and publish the revised policy on this page.
